I’ve been talking about it here and there, and it’s because I can’t wait anymore! I’m so excited for Spring. Last week was lovely with highs in the 60s and 70s and it was so great to get out and enjoy some fresh air without having to bundle up in 20 layers of clothing. To celebrate the fact that the seasons are changing, I’ve been adding more Spring colors to my everyday. I’ve been experimenting here and there with making bolder statements with my lip shades and Spring is the perfect time do to that.
Some blogger friends and I have teamed up to share our favorite Spring beauty picks for Spring. Below are my picks for lipsticks for Spring.
Revlon HD Devotion
The lipstick is avery balm-like when you first apply it but feels very lightweight due to the gel technology used in the lipstick. You think it would look very glossy but it is a semi-matte finish. It has a bit of a satin-y shine to it but are better than regular matte that I find can make my lips appear chapped. It applies very smoothly but be careful during application because it can slip. This lipstick is great because it last through light snacking and drinking! My favorite part about it is that they have a nice berry scent. The Devotion shade is the perfect shade for my lips because it is a “pink nude” so is casual enough for a laid-back day but can also look great dressing it up. It’s a shade that looks great on everyone.
Revlon HD Addiction
This is my new favorite color. It’s a berry (which are my typical go-to colors) that looks great with everything. I’ve worn it on all occasions and this shade can honestly be worn into the Summer and even Fall too! All of the Revlon Ultra HD lip colors are around $7.99 and can be found in any drug store.
NYX Lip Cream in Buenos Aires
When I first got this lip cream, I really loved it but the more and more I’ve tried it up until publishing this post, my love has diminished. The shade is great and exactly why I am still suggesting it for you. However, the consistency of this lip cream is a bit frustrating. You definitely need a lip liner, and it takes about four coats to cover adequately. Take it or leave it, but I still love the shade. Any lipsticks that you like that are similar?
NYX Lip Cream in Addis Ababa
The most playful of the bunch! This shade is a beautiful bright pink shade without being too wild. Unlike Buenos Aires, it goes on very well and stays on your lips for a full work day. The NYX lip creams don’t smell as great as the Revlon but they do smell good. For a girl who has an olive skin tone like me, this pink is for you!
I also want to say that this was a fun post idea inspired from the Blog Passion Project for collaboration. I’ve worked with a great group of bloggers who have also teamed up to share with you some Spring make-up and style looks. Now, go check out Jenn @ Hello Rigby for her Spring make-up look, visit Becca @ Fit Foodnista, Jenny @ Breakfast at Lilly’s for her Spring wishlist, and Jen from Boone and Owl for her easy Spring make-up look.
