So now you’re thinking, “How many damn ringtones does this chick have?” which is a grand total of six and I didn’t pay for any of them. Yep, that’s right! No need to go to iTunes and pay $0.99 for a ringtone, you can do it yourself for free and here’s how.
Create Your Own Personalized iPhone Ringtone
Find the song in your iTunes. Once you highlight that song, there will be an ellipses to the right of the song title, click that. Once you see the drop down select “Get Info.”
Under the Get Info panel, you will need to click on “Options.” In that panel you will see a start and stop time. Enter your desired start time that you wrote down in step one. Enter your desired stop time (remember no longer than 30 seconds maximum). Click OK.
Once you can see your file extension in your file name, you want to hit “rename” and all you’ll need to change is the last letter from an a to an r. (i.e. songtitle.m4a will be changed to songtitle.m4r.)
